Fourth edition of Population-based Public Health Nursing Clinical Manual introduces nurses and students to public health practices
Check: The HSC manual is the second most popular book from STTI Publishers!
Based on the principles of the Henry Street Consortium, this book offers practical resources to nurses and students
Public health nursing is less about clinical bedside nursing and more about influencing healthful behavioral changes that will improve individual health and also influence those in the individual’s immediate community (friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors). Health care continues to be one of the hot-button issues everywhere, but public health nursing has a significant role to play in improving health and thus lowering the cost of health care.
The Population-Based Public Health Nursing Clinical Manual: The Henry Street Model for Nurses intuitively guides readers through the principles and competencies of public health nursing—principles and competencies that were collectively developed and honed by a consortium of public health nurses in public and academic sectors. This easy to use book stands out from existing public health textbooks in its affordability but also in its hands-on and friendly approach. Elements include case studies, actual student nurse notebooks, evidence examples, activities, ethical considerations, learning examples, reflective practice, key points, and an interactive activity called
“Think, Explore, Do.”
Patricia Schoon, DNP, MPH, RN, PHN; Carolyn Garcia, PhD, RN, and Marjorie Schaffer, PhD, RN, based this original book on the Henry Street Consortium’s framework of 11 population-based, entry-level public health nursing competencies and made evidence-based practice an integral component of the book. Each competency is given a full chapter for thorough learning (First through Third Editions).
